Antique Limestone Trough Fountain

Antique Limestone Trough Fountain

$1,295.00

A beautifully weathered antique limestone trough, professionally converted into a fully functioning recirculating garden fountain.

Hand-hewn from a substantial piece of limestone, its natural, worn-in patina, softened edges and irregular surface bear the marks of age and use, lending the piece the unmistakable character of old stone. There is a quiet story of enduring craftsmanship in its simple form—timeless, beautifully imperfect, and made all the more compelling by the passage of time.

Two welded copper water spouts rise simply from the basin, introducing gentle movement and sound while allowing the stone itself to remain the focus. Substantial in both weight and presence, it feels equally at home nestled into established planting, set along a garden path, beneath an espalier or garden wall, or anchoring a courtyard or entry garden.

The antique trough has already been fully prepared for fountain use. The basin is properly sealed with a clear protective sealant to preserve the appearance of the limestone, the original drain opening securely plugged, and a quiet, adjustable pump fitted to create a self-contained recirculating water system. No plumbing or dedicated water line is required—simply fill the trough, plug in the pump, adjust the water flow to your preference, and enjoy.

As with all genuine antique stone, variations in tone and texture, mineral markings, softened edges, tool marks and irregularities are intrinsic to the history and beauty of the piece. Each is entirely one of a kind.
